March at Topo Pino: A Season of Renewal & Reflection
Share
March arrives on the wind—soft, shifting, full of quiet promise. It is the season of awakening—of delicate light stretching across the fields, of the first seedlings pressing toward the sky, of nature beginning again.
This month carries special meaning for us. On February 27th, Topo Pino turned 7 years old. Seven years of growing, learning, and rekindling the spirit of this land—a place where nature, history, and seasonal beauty intertwine.
Rekindling History, Embracing the Present
When we set out to reawaken Topo Pino, it wasn't just about the land—it was about the stories it held, the legacy that whispered through the trees. Over a century ago, this was the site of Janet McKenzie Hill's Summer School of Cookery. A culinary pioneer, food writer, and editor of the Boston Cooking School Magazine, Hill taught the art of cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients, celebrating nature's gifts long before "seasonal living" became a phrase of intention.
Though much has changed, Topo Pino remains a place where nature is honored, seasons guide us, and simple joys are cherished.
Spring Limited Edition Collection
With spring's arrival, we welcome the return of our seasonal candle collection, inspired by the first signs of renewal:
- Early Bird – Tea rose, daisy, and vanilla, capturing the freshness of a dewy morning.
- Blush of Spring – Lily, magnolia, and rose, unfolding like the season's first blossoms.
- Lilac Breeze – Jasmine, lilac, and rose, evoking the soft nostalgia of lilac-lined paths in late spring.
These scents whisper of new beginnings—of golden light through budding branches, of the hush before a garden blooms.
Seeding the First Signs of Spring
This month, we mark a quiet but meaningful ritual—the first seeds of the season are tucked into soil, indoors for now, waiting for warmth.
We begin with lavender, rosemary, and thyme, three fragrant foundations of the summer ahead. In these small green shoots, we see the rhythm of renewal, the patience of nature, and the steady unfolding of something beautiful.
Next month, we'll turn our attention to cosmos, snapdragons, and pastel zinnias. Each was chosen for its soft color and movement—wild yet intentional, delicate yet resilient.
